The human dimension of law is the driving force behind Jennifer’s commitment to legal advocacy. The aspects of the legal practice Jennifer is most passionate about are the people she represents, their unique and complex backgrounds, and the practical ways the law can work for them.

As the American-born daughter of Korean immigrants, Jennifer assumed the role of an advocate from an early age. Because her parents struggled with English as their second language, Jennifer often found herself assisting them with the language barriers they encountered in their day-to-day lives. Not wanting her parents to misunderstand or be misunderstood, she quickly developed a penchant for active listening and communication.

After earning her law degree from Willamette University College of Law in 2011, Jennifer obtained a prestigious judicial clerkship at the Oregon Court of Appeals. She spent the next two years navigating Oregon statutes and administrative rules to assist the court in rendering legal opinions on complex issues of law. Her work with the court further sharpened her discernment and writing skills. She went on to work for two Portland estate and family planning law firms, using those skills to effectively advocate for and counsel her clients. Jennifer’s ability to listen with empathy and evaluate another person’s circumstances with precision enables her to advise her clients in the most effective way.

Jennifer established Kwon Law LLC in 2015. Her specialties include Medicaid long-term care planning, special needs planning, estate planning, estate and probate administration, guardianships and conservatorships, and surrogacy law.
